Randomosity #45 - Prime Confusion
September 2007
Pencil, tablet PC, Adobe Photoshop CS2

This comic was released shortly after the debut of 2007's Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for the Nintendo Wii. The events shown in the comic are based off an actual conversation I had with my roommate after he realized that Samus' charge shots merely bounced off of the friendly soldiers in one location of the game. We then noticed that shooting the troops with a missile yeilded even funnier results. In the comic format, this was translated to the then-current "Shoop Da Whoop" internet meme.
The conversation at the end of the comic is also based on a real one, where my roommate questioned why my Wil character seemed to be rappelling from the ceiling in the comic. Truthfully, that particular gag came around by sheer accident, as I had originally meant to draw the character poking in from side of the panel, defying physics in a Looney Tunes-like fashion.
The fonts used are "Badaboom", "Deathrattle", "DigitalStrip" and "Twelve Ton Goldfish" from BlamBot.com, and "Bengiuat Frisky", which was a standard font on my computer.
