This page comes from a children's book I recently worked on and completed. With this book, I wanted to make a departure from my comic book style and soften the edges and corners. I also set out to emulate the old GoldenBooks I read as a child, but obviously I used a digital medium rather than watercolors.
I particularly enjoy how this page came out because of the pose on the skunk here. On a whim, I drew him wiping his nose on his "sleeve", and in mid-walk cycle. It's a simple pose, but I think you read him as a living character here, rather than just a pose.
